Faculty Positions
Continuing Lecturer
Applicant must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related discipline and preferably four years of teaching experience at the university level. The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory courses in introductory biology for non-majors. Duration of this position is two years with potential of continuation based on additional funding. More
Faculty Position in Cancer Cell Biology
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Cancer Cell Biology. We seek candidates using a mammalian model system to address fundamental questions in cancer stem cell biology or cancer epigenetics. We expect to fill an academic year appointment at the Assistant Professor level; however appointment at a higher rank will be considered for qualified applicants. More
Faculty Position in Evolutionary Ecology
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Evolutionary Ecology. We seek candidates whose research integrates the fields of ecology and evolution with those of neuroscience, developmental biology, physiology, or comparative genomics. We expect to fill an academic-year appointment at the Assistant Professor level; however, appointment at a higher rank will be considered for qualified applicants. More
Faculty position in Molecular Evolution
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Molecular Evolution. The successful candidate will have a strong background in comparative genomics, theoretical population genetics, phylogenetics, or evolutionary genetics, and a research focus on evolution at the cellular or molecular level. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, evolutionary processes relating to host-pathogen interactions, developmental and cellular regulatory systems, metabolic systems, genome evolution, or macromolecular structure and function. We expect to fill an academic year appointment at the Assistant Professor level; however appointment at a higher rank may be considered for qualified applicants. More
Faculty Position for a Microbiologist in Biofuels Research
The Department of Biological Sciences, Purdue University, invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in microbiology to engage in biofuels research. Potential areas of research interests include microbial production of ethanol, butanol, methane, H2, or other alternative energy sources, anaerobic metabolism, genetic manipulation of anaerobes, and degradation of lignocellulosics. We seek candidates who conduct laboratory research using the most recent advances in systems approaches, such as metabolomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience. We expect to fill academic year appointments at the Assistant Professor level, but appointments at a higher rank will be considered. More
