GRE Tests

The Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University requires all applicants to take the Aptitude Test (verbal, quantitative and analytical writing) of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) regardless of their undergraduate records or of the accreditation status of their institutions. On GRE tests taken after October 1, 2002, the minimum score for the Analytical Writing section is 3.5. Do not apply if you receive a lower analytical writing score. Your application will not be considered for admission. We use the scores from the most recent test date.  We do not use the best scores from multiple tests dates. We recommend that applicants take this test at the earliest test date possible. Applicants receive their test results significantly sooner than institutions receive the official scores.

This department does not require a GRE Subject Test or the GRE Written Assessment Test.

Tests are given at numerous centers in the United States and abroad.
